Behind every successful woman is herself. And, behind GO WEST Equestrian, is a wheelbarrow full of successful women…
Owner and President (Nicole Musmanno): Nicole received her bachelor’s degree from University of Colorado at Denver. She earned a double degree in History and Literature while actively competing in Eventing and Dressage. Nicole admits that her college career took a little longer than expected due to horses, “I always had a good horse and a reason to show, usually across the country.” Not content to not include horses in her life in every way, Nicole looked for a way to incorporate horses and her passion for writing. In doing so Nicole is a frequent freelance writer for Equestrian Magazine, the Official publication of the USEF, a contributing writer to local newsletters such as Boulder County Horse Association and Boulder Valley Eventing Association. At the beginning of 2008, Nicole took over as Editor for BVEA News.
Go West seemed the perfect complement to Nicole’s shared passion for writing and riding. Always convinced that the West has been over looked for the quality of horses, riders and shows that it produces, it is her goal to bring coverage of the western states and equestrian sports to the world’s eye. It is time the East knows where some of the sports’ best horses and riders come from and to be on the lookout for the new talent the West is continuously producing.
Assistant Editor / Web Consultant / In-house Empowerment Coach: Ali had one of those idyllic childhoods growing up in the barn and stands behind the horse 100%. She brings her experience to GWE which she cultivated via her own projects and creative companies. Ali is the writer, editor, designer, artist, visionary and cowgirl in residence at Auspicious Projects www.auspiciousprojects.com.
Ali holds a BS in Religious Studies and Biology, and received her MA in Religious Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her thesis explores the horse and rider’s transcendence into a “third, much greater thing.” She has worked for a forkful of equine publications such as Eclectic Horseman Communications and the Boulder County Horse Association, and writes about how horses are human whisperers at her other blog, Horse Sensei www.horsesensei.com.
